I welcome a challenge.

Bodywork was not my first passion. I entered into Massage School in 2009 after an 18 year career in construction. My intent was to use it as a means of income while I pursued my Masters Degree in Alternative Architectural Design & Construction. I chose Massage Therapy because I have always loved to work with my hands, and it was a complete departure from my life in construction… I needed a change. But, I also knew that I could be very good at it. As it happens, life changed my plans… and here we are.

When I was only 25 years old, my Doctor, an Orthopedist, who had been treating my chronic hand/wrist, neck & shoulder pain with a steady stream of prescriptions - max dose ibuprofen, muscle-relaxers & pain-killers - told me that I would require neck surgery when I asked him what I could do besides popping pills. Years of being young and dumb had taken a toll, but instead of submitting to the scalpel I decided to get smarter. I walked out of that office and never returned. I started thinking about my habits; what I ate, the way I moved, the way I thought… and immediately began to change those habits. I began to practice yoga (which was quite the site for an inflexible brutish construction guy), studied nutrition, analyzed my sleep habits, moved with better awareness, and even began to get massages. You know what happened? I began to live pain-free.

BODY WORK RENO has evolved over the years with the knowledge that one’s habits are the keys to one’s own success. I do my part: constantly educating myself and striving to find better more effective ways to achieve results. But true, lasting, long-term success is dependent upon your motivation to live better, and the steps you are willing to take to do so.

My experience and empathy is a cornerstone of BODY WORK RENO. Each individual who walks through my door is treated as such: an individual. Not as an injury or a symptom, but as a unique collection of experiences and hopes and goals that deserve to be acknowledged and treated holistically. I may or may not be able to help you reach your ultimate goals, but I can help you along your path and will honestly advise you as to what actions you may need to take to maintain consistent progress.
